With the exception of some religious pieces, such as a German Saint Andrew and an early 16^th century Spanish lectern, the Magnins acquired small sculptures. Sometimes they look more like decorative objets d’art, like La Source by Carrier-Belleuse or the two allegorical heads representing Spring and Automn by Juste Le Court (ca. 1670).

Terracotta sculptures also feature prominently, be they the figurines representing the four corners of the earth, attributed to the Flemish sculptor Van Baurscheit, Falguière’s masks or Préault’s unclassifiable Wave. All these works proove the Magnins’ enthusiasm for the sketch.
